A slow-growing small tree, U. speciosa has fragrant clusters of bright pink flowers that appear in early spring, followed by deep green pinnate leaves up to 12 inches long. Woody, tri-lobed seed pods are 1/2″ in diameter, and fall leaf color is a golden-yellow.Light gray to brown bark, smooth on young branches, becomes fissured with age.
