Schizachyrium scoparium ‘Standing Ovation’ ~ Monrovia Standing Ovation Little Bluestem

Monrovia Standing Ovation Little Bluestem is anativegrasswith upright slender blue-green leaves with tips and purple tints at the base. The foliage has dazzlingshades of yellow, oranges, red, and purple-brownsfall color. Tinygreenflowers rise high above the foliage on stems in late summer and are followed by fluffy white seed heads that persist through winter. Grows best infull sunand well-drained soils.

Schizachyrium scoparium is a native host plant for 6 different skippers: theOttoe, Indian, Crossline, Dusted, Cobweb, and Dixie skipper. The seeds are eaten by small birds.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance plant.Cut to ground late winter or early spring.
