Bletilla striata ‘Alba’ arises from pseudobulbs. These ground growing orchids produce racemes of small, cattleya-like, white blooms in mid to late spring. Their tall green, sword shaped leaves are longitudinally pleated and the white blooms sitting above the foliage have the appearance of soft, delicate stars hanging down.

This Hardy Orchid prefers partial sun to light shade and moist to damp soil. Bletilla striata ‘Alba’ may naturalize over time and can be grown in containers. Great in dappled sun. In colder regions, winter mulch should be applied.
