A species or hybrid collected from Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden, but of unknown origin. A beauty with small, green leaves and a compact form. Even though it hasn’t yet been graced with a cultivar name, it is proving to be hardy in the PNW and should get more attention. This manzanita maintains a pronounced purple hue throughout the seasons due to its new growth stems. Long blooming, we get buds opening in December and full bloom by late March.
